Since 16th Dec, it rains continuous for nearly 24 hours & resulted in flash flood in Selangor. Immediately, Disaster Relief OC initiated for RM5,000 budget approval to be approved by BOD to provide assistance for the flood victims. BOD unanimously approved the budget on 18 Dec 2021. Ln Dato Neoh also donated additional RM10,000 for the project. Members of community also donated into LCSJ project account.
On 19th morning, Ln Joseph, Ln Adrian, & Ln Hua Bing went to Masjid Al-Falah in USJ9 to check on the flood victims. LCSJ then donated RM200 per household & some dry goods for the families.
After that, the team proceed to Masjid Darul Ehsan in ss15 to access the relief center. The management had opened their mosque to be temporarily shelter for those who unable to go back to Klang, Shah Alam or Port Klang as railway service was disrupted. As token of appreciation for their efforts, LCSJ donated RM1,000 to the committee. The donation will be for the committee to purchase essential items for stranded commuters.
At 1pm, we went to 99speed mart at USJ height as the team received plead to help for dry groceries & cleaning products. The purchase is for 300 families from Batu Tiga, Shah Alam flood relief center.
At night, we went to SMK USJ23 to provide food to the victims at the temporarily shelter place. LCSJ had ordered fried rice from the school canteen operator. The fried rice cater for 1,000pax in the relief center.
