Our club and Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North recently joined forces to donate a full set of football jerseys to the boys of Sekolah Tunas Bakti Sungai Besi , a rehabilitation school in Kuala Lumpur giving young men a second chance at life and learning.
Representing the clubs were President Carmen Siah from Lions Club of KL North and our club President YC Tan. The school’s football team delivered a heroic season as they fought their way to the finals of the Wilayah Persekutuan secondary school level football competition, only losing to the elite Bukit Jalil Sports School in the finals.
We were warmly greeted by Tuan Ramacantiran, Headmaster of Sekolah Tunas Bakti Sungai Besi, and took a moment to reflect on the school’s long history as one of Malaysia’s Pre-Merdeka institutions. It was officiated by Sir Gerald Templer in the 1950s.
To the boys and educators of Sungai Besi. May these jerseys remind you that you are not defined by past mistakes but by future victories.
